This is what I first saw when I log on to HuffPost...

55 Colleges Face Sexual Assault Investigations. Which was disturbing to say the least. So I decided to read the article, wondering if ASU is on the list, and wouldn't ya know it, they are! I should preface that this is an issue that can happen at any school, ivy or public. The article goes on the mention that this the first time US Department of Education has released such a list.

The list is to create public awareness about this huge issue that plagues college campuses all over the country. It is, in no way, a reflection on the institution itself. The article goes on to mention that if the college is still in violation after the federal investigation,  they will be required to re-write polices, require staffing changes, or at worst have their federal funding cut off.

I applaude the Department of Education on publishing this list. It is important that the public be aware of this issue. No student should go to school with the fear of being assaulted. Universities need to do more about raising awareness and informing students on the issue.

If you want to check out the article, here is the link.
